Story: Martiza came from a wealthy family, and what the didn't know she came from a family of werewolves. When she reached puperty, she had a heated arbument with her mother about a boy which triggered her transformation to a wolf and loosing control she killed her mother. The shock made her forget the incident and she grew up with the story that her mother had died from cancer. The memories of what she had done did not return until many years later [8].

Martiza followed in her brother's footsteps and became a soldier in the United States Special Operations Group. Blackbird had no official prior paramilitary training before joining the Special Forces. Her skills are believed to be her father training her, but it has not been confirmed, and it may also be a natural ability as she herself claims [12].

The details have not been revealed, but after Delta Force, she joined Team 7. On a mission to the Transylvania with the Team 7 at the time, what was supposed to be a biological weapon held by a loosing faction in the Balkan was actually a nanotech alloy which was essentially a non-carbon based life form. In reality, Team 7 was supposed to retrieve or destroy the alloy before it fell into the hands of the Vampire Nation. The mission didn't go as planned, and Team 7 was exposed to the alloy which bound itself to their skin and acted like a living armor. Realizing something was wrong, Miles Craven ordered the supporting troops to kill Dane and his team, but Mother-One who had herself been exposed to the alloy before the team helped taking out the troops and save Team 7 [1].

After the Balkan mission, Dane and his team was approached by Armand Waering, who took them back to the States and tried to help them use their new golden armor [2]. As the symbiote had been developed by Waering industries [12], and Waering himself was connected to the Night Tribe and had his own agenda, the team was shortly after sent out on a mission to prevent the release of a viral agent by the Night Tribe. The mission succeeded in the sense that the virus was stopped, but Flattop and Crossbones were killed, and Grail and Dozer were changed [3, 4].

Like the rest of the team, Pilgrim's symbiote started changing her too. While spying on Mother One, she discovered, that she had become invisible [5]. Her powers evolved when she was teleported away by an evil version of her self [6]. She returned after having fought the twin, and having mastered her new abilities [7].

On a mission to visit her father and his tribe, a mage sensed the werewolf in her, and made her remember how she had killed her mother by accident and made her able to change into wolf form [8].

In 1998, WetWorks, Grifter and Lynch were attacked by Rostov, a powerful telepath who was believed to have been killed by Team 7 [9]. Rostov was defeated, but after the fight Dane was tired of always being someone's tool and he decided that the team should go underground for a while to find a new role for WetWorks [10].

In 2006 when the team was seen next, Pilgrim was still at part of the team [11].

Skills & abilities: The symbiote covering the body acts as a living armor and gives a low level telepathic ability towards the other carriers of a similar symbiote. Pilgrim's symbiote also gives her an ability to become invisible. The symbiote creates dimensional folds, that makes her able to move between dimensions and works as a cloak of invisibility and short range teleportation and time travel.

As a werewolf, Maritza can change shape to a wolf form, which is much stronger, agile and faster than her human form.
