Story: In 1937 young Ethan Crane killed two men who had just raped a 15 year old girl. On his way from where he killed the men, he was shot down by the police and shortly after that convicted for murder [1].

In 1939 he was offered to be a test subject in Dr. Garnet Wells experiments on enhanced humans. Ethan took the offer, hoping to survive, contrary to the previous six who had been guinea pigs. Unfortunately he didn't survive [1]. Even though he was dead, Ethan's body began to mutate, becoming stronger and about a week later he came back to life [2]. When Ethan came back to life, he went out in the streets where he found a church led by father Beam. In the church he was offered sanctuary and in the following days, Ethan discovered some of his new abilities. At the time when Ethan was in the church, he heard about the war in Europe and decided he could do something about it [3].

Not much has been revealed about Supreme's work in WWII except that he was part of the Allies [19].

After the war, Supreme decided he was meant for more something more than playing good Samaritan to a nerdy society and went into space [19]. In reality it was his accidentally killing father Beam that drove him into space [20].

After years of fighting in space among which he fought side by side with the Katellans, Supreme returned to Earth in 1992 [5]. Things had changed a lot on Earth in the time Supreme had been gone. His old enemy Zachariah Grizlock had killed some of his old friends and was in prison. While in prison he was working for G.A.T.E.-industries and was helping the nation in general. Humanity has started genetic engineering on humans creating heroes like Youngblood and Heavy Mettle.

Shortly after his arrival on Earth, Jason Temple, the leader of Heavy Mettle, offered him a job as field leader of the team [6]. Supreme joined but left shortly after, when he had defeated the villain Khrome [7].

While Supreme was fighting with Thor over the hammer Mjollnir [9,10], Enigma obtained a superfluous Supreme from an alternate timeline. This Supreme should be ready in case Supreme lost the fight [18]. As Supreme won the fight, the extra Supreme was kept in suspended animation until Loki found him and shipped him to the alternate Earth where the real Supreme had been stranded [4,13].

When Lord Chapel launched his attack on Earth, he sent Crypt out on a killing spree. One of the people Crypt attacked was Supreme who was killed in the fight, but as the body fell to the ground it vanished [11]. This turned out to be Loki's revenge for losing when Supreme defeated Thor in the battle for Mjollnir. Supreme was marooned on an alternate Earth at a point in time before Enigma's extra Supreme was send there [18].

A week after the defeat of Supreme, a new Supreme appeared. He was much younger and had no memory who he was [12]. The new Supreme turned out to be Supreme's daughter Probe and was returned her right gender by Diabolique [13].

When the alternate Supreme landed on the alternate Earth, he woke up and tried to find out what was happening to him. It wasn't long before he was attacked and overpowered by the real Supreme, who had been stranded on the alternate Earth for years and who had lost his powers in the meantime [14]. In his lab, Supreme switched body with the alternate Supreme to restore his powers [15]. No sooner had the alternate Supreme regained conscience, before he attacked Supreme to get his body back. In the fight that followed, Loki was revealed as the mastermind behind what had happened to the two Supremes [16]. The fight escalated as the two Supremes along with Probe and Enigma attacked Loki. In the end Loki was defeated and he escaped to Asgaard and at the same time removed the alternate Supreme, presumably to another alternate Earth [17]. Enigma and Odin tied up the loose ends with Loki, while Supreme and Probe returned to Earth [18].
